I view friendships and other relationships as an extremely important part of my life.
Having someone be there for you gives you a sense of comfort that you’re not alone, and that you are relatable to your friends. Feeling like you are loved makes you get through the day, no matter how hard the situation is.
Friends come and go, it’s a reality many of us don’t want to think about. Arguments could easily shatter a friendship, or your friend moves to another school or city. I know this feeling, and now I do my best to cherish the friendships I have right now. This also applies to your other relationships.
The amount of time that you are friends with someone doesn’t determine how much of a best friend they are to you, in my personal opinion. I’m friends with someone who I have known for more than 5 years, but we never were the closest. But I am friends with someone who I met 2 years ago, and we are really buddy-buddy.
What I’m trying to say here is, we need to cherish our friendships more, and treat each day with our friends like it’s the last time we’ll see them. We need to be grateful for our friends too. Not a week goes by where I don’t tell them I appreciate them.
