To me, I feel shame when I do something I’m not supposed to do, and get in trouble. I feel shame when my family members and I get into heated arguments, and I feel shame when I finish an objective but never gave it my all in it.
When I feel shame I feel it in my abdomen. I would have a rapid heartbeat, tense muscles, clenched teeth, and troubles breathing. I would feel like there was a pit in my stomach. Overall when I feel shame, I won’t feel good physically.
As of now, I don’t feel much shame. But now that I learned what it is, I do my best to identify shame and do my best to deal with it.
