I named this plant “Squanchy” because my favorite character is a cat from a show called Rick and Morty. He may be small but don’t underestimate Squanchy because that cat survived some very rough environments, just like this species of plant can.
I am giving this plant to my dad because we did some roto-tilling the other day, and Squanchy would look really nice next to the garden on the west side of the house. The garden’s soil also has lots of nutrients, so it makes sense to put the plant there.
From taking care of the plant, I learned that it is resilient. It almost died at the beginning, but it recovered after I moved it away from the cold of the open window. I learned that you don’t need to move to survive. You need to adapt to your environment in order to thrive. I have always known that I was good at caring for things because I have many younger siblings, and this project reinforced that idea for me.
